About the CUDA Research Center at QIBEBT-CAS
QIBEBT-CAS (Qingdao Institute of BioEnergy and Biotechnology Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences) is a newly-founded national research institute dedicated for science and technology innovation in biology, energy and process technologies. Computational Biology Group of QIBEBT-CAS is one of the early adopters of GPGPU computing with CUDA in its research and teaching.

In Computational Biology Group, researchers develop novel computational methods to enable super-high throughput analyses for genomics, metagenomics, single-cell omics and synthetic biology, all based on “big data”. In these areas, rapid and real-time computations could significantly transform current practices. Over the last three years, the group has utilized GPGPU CUDA computation facilities to tremendously facilitate research projects in computational biology and bioinformatics fields.
